Visiting Our Farm

We Welcome visitors to our farm.  Located at 39 Drain Street off Highway six, near Hampton, Connecticut.  Please refer to the map below, or call us for more detailed directions.   We have Picnic tables for small outings, so bring a lunch basket.

Please understand that Safe Haven Farm is a working farm, there are always certain risks associated with visiting a farm.  We work hard to keep the farm and grounds safe for visitors, but there are still some things that could cause injury, so please stay alert.  While our alpacas a very people friendly, we are not a petting zoo.  Our staff is well versed in the animals and can answer most questions.  We do ask that all visitors come the main house before walking the grounds or trying to visit the alpacas.  We try to be sure that all guests have a staff escort to insure your safety and answer any questions.

We have facilities for groups and parties. And offer special pricing.  We have hosted political rallies, birthday parties, organizational events, company parties and day retreats and more.  Interested in bringing you event to Safe Haven?  Contact us at 860-455-0054.

Outings at Safe Haven are perfect for groups, organizations and children.  Families are welcome as well.  Many first time visitors to our farm are simply curious about Alpacas, others are interested in the products that are made from the Alpaca Fiber.  Regardless of your reason, please plan on coming by and spending some time with us.

Simple Ways to find Safe Haven:

Heading East on Connecticut Route 6: Watch for the Hampton Town signs, you will pass by Highway 97, then up a hill and around a slight corner. At the top of the hill you will see "South Bigalow" on your right...your getting very close! Halfway down the hill you will see our white flag and signs on the right, drive through the gates and down the drive...you have arrived!

 Heading West on Connecticut Route 6: Once you pass through Brooklyn you will travel about four miles. At the bottom of a hill there is a flashing yellow light, keep heading west.  The road widens to two lanes, then back to one at the top of the hill...your getting close! At the bottom of the hill you will see a small bridge over "little river" and then drain street. Half way up the hill our white flag and signs will be on your left. Drive through the gates and down the drive...you have arrived.
